Social Media and editorial Intern

Inspired to change the conversation around money and banking, we recently launched our editorial platform, Coin, where we share compelling and thoughtful stories that reveal how influential people use money to empower their lifestyle. We believe that being smart about how you spend and how you save is what makes you successful.
We are looking for a creative and entrepreneurial Social Media and Editorial intern to join our LA-based Marketing Team from August 2019 until December 2019. Reporting to our Marketing Team, this position will assist with social and editorial content planning, scheduling and posting, assisting with content creation, community management, sourcing content, and more. Above all, this is an opportunity for the right candidate to learn how a fast-growing startup works, while adding value to a lean organization and seeing the immediate impact of hard work.
Some things you’ll be doing:
Work with Cogni’s Community Manager to source, edit, and post editorial content to our blog.
Conduct interviews (via email/phone) and write a blog post based on the interviews.
Work with Cogni’s Content Manager to plan content for social media accounts.
Stay on top of trends and conversations happening on social media and in editorial, and assist in adapting them for Cogni’s social media.
Assist in writing social copy and post planning, under clear guidance.
Source on-brand imagery and inspiration.
Assist in researching and approaching influencer/writing partners.
Help to community moderate across Cogni’s various social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube)
Assist with other administrative and copy tasks as needed.
Some things you need to have:
Strong attention to detail with well-honed organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Keen eye for grammar and spelling.
A knack for using social media.
Ability to multi-task and manage own time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Eagerness and willingness to learn many different skills.
Creativity and a very keen sense of brand aesthetics.
Being a student/recent graduate of a degree in communications, journalism, or marketing a plus.
